MUNCY COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM
The Muncy Community Action Program (CAP) is an organization within its 5th decade of operation that seeks to promote growth and advancement of adults and students by providing social, educational, and recreational activities and programs at no cost to Muncy School District residents. CAP was established in the mid 1970s when the Muncy School District and many key community members recognized the need for free summer recreation for the youth within the community. Along the way, many wonderful individuals have served the organization and have provided the community of Muncy with various programs that enrich their lives....
SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAM
The Summer Recreation Program (Summer REC) offers elementary age children of the Muncy School District an opportunity to play in a safe environment and offers a variety of outdoor and indoor games, arts & crafts, as well as special events. The program is held at the Ward L. Myers Elementary School and utilizes the gym, classroom and playground areas. Children check in/out daily with the program director and are not permitted to leave during the duration of the program without a signed permission. Summer REC is run by the Program Director, Asst Program Director and staffed by Muncy High School students who serve as Recreational Counselors. The program is free of charge to residents of the Muncy School District. We rely on the generosity of the community to fund the program.
